Last weekend, from the 1st – 3rd March, we were delighted to attend Dublin Coffee Festival! Organised by Cup North, the team behind other popular coffee festivals in the UK, this was the first time ever that this event had come to Ireland!
When we first heard rumour back in 2023 that a coffee festival was coming to Dublin, we just couldn’t contain our excitement and knew that we had to be involved! So when the time came around, we instantly put our name down for some of the key activities that were taking place throughout the festival weekend.
Sustainability Panel
Firstly, our Quality & Sustainability Manager Jolanta Turowska took part in a panel discussion, with the topic being Sustainability in the Scene: An Exploration into Different Experiences & Ideas On The Top of Sustainability. Joined on the panel by Zarah Lawless, Mark Russell and Suzanne Casey, Jolanta, who is passionate about protecting the environment, discussed her thoughts on sustainability in the industry and what the future holds.
‘I think sustainability is about having a holistic view of all the aspects of your business. What we do from the smallest action to the bigger actions of the business – everything matters’.

Cupping Session
On Sunday morning, Quality Consultant Milena Bardyn hosted a cupping session in the tasting room at Dublin Coffee Festival, assisted by Aisling Alexander (Quality Consultant West of Ireland) and Jolanta. Participants had the opportunity to taste coffees from Guatemala, Nicaragua and Colombia, rate their favourite and learn how different roasting methods can affect the same coffees.
Irish Coffee Making Workshop
In the final afternoon of Dublin Coffee Festival, Luis Alvarez (Quality Consultant) hosted an Irish Coffee Workshop with special guest, Derek King from Experience Irish Whiskey. Attendees were treated to an immersive experience, including a deep dive into the coffee and whiskey, and exploring how they affect the drink. And of course everyone got to make their very own Irish Coffee!
Aside from the different events, overall the festival was a fantastic opportunity to meet and talk to coffee professionals from all over the country. The passion for coffee was evident at every corner, with everyone joining in to learn, taste, chat and simply enjoy coffee!
