Follow these step-by-step instructions to make the perfect cup of coffee using a Chemex.

 

Step 1: Grind 30g coffee (grind size: medium to coarse).

 

Step 2: Heat around 510g of water to 92 degrees or 30 seconds off the boil.

 

Step 3: Assemble the Chemex, rinse the filter paper and discard the water from the rinse.

 

 

Step 4: Add the ground coffee to the filter paper and pour water over, just enough to soak the coffee.

 

Step 5: Leave the soaked coffee to sit for about 30 seconds and then stir.

 

Step 6: Continue adding water slowly. Leave around an inch of room at the top.

 

 

Step 7: Once the water has passed through the filter, remove the filter and serve.
